School Story:
Mr. Campbell (Mark) was beating our entire class one day, bcuz we were hanging out on the corridor, when we should be in class. We were lined up outside of his "office"; the little dungeon downstairs. My turn came all too soon, and my pleas of "I was'nt on the coridor sir", fell on deaf ears. Suddenly there was a loud crash at the back of his office where there was a pile of bottles, His mistake was going to look for the cause of the disturbance, and i took off like a rocket. Dont know what he thought when he looked around and didnt see me. I stayed away from his class for the next day, but he saw me and told me to come back, it was ok. The moral of the story: Only fools stick around to see where a cane in the hands of a teacher will end up doing!
A group of us thought that the lunch lines were too long , and lunch time to short.. so we decided to go to find our mid-day meal outside of the school compound. We started going to a small roadside shop a little ways past the post office on a little hill, to a lady called Miss I. We would sometimes order a box of corn flakes and a tin of condensed milk and kick back with nice bowl of cereal. It was a nice lunch spot, but the variety was scarce,so we moved to Shiela's shop, but we had to stand behind the door bcuz there was nowhwere to sit. We were going to "lunch " one day when Miss Minto the librarian spotted and called out to us , and of course we ran..no not back to school to Shiela's shop! When we tried to get back to school, of course the gates were locked and we had to go under the wires next to the canefield, and i ripped my uniform. We did not go to "lunch " for a little while, but we resumed after the little hitch wore off. For us Shielas tutifruiti was a stronger calling card than a big locked iron gate.
