I went to The Little Schoolhouse for nursery school, run by Lucie's mother, Omie. I had more than one sleepover with her, and never a bad moment. She's a reasured part of my childhood.
In my Memory's Sketchbook of Mount Hebron Junior High School, 1956, Lucie wrote, "I like sitting in front of you." Presumably I liked sitting behind Lucie as well. I remember her as having a ready and warm smile, a kind disposition, and a personality that was easy to know and to like. I am especially glad that at the Reunion at which we were across from the Montclair YMCA on Park Street, I had the opportunity to sit and reconnect with Lucie however briefly; it was a special moment. God bless her.
