Anyone who remembers me will remember that I loved books and art, and my life shows that.
I moved to Maplewood at the end of sophomore year of high school, graduating from Columbia HS. I got a B.A. in history of art and a master’s degree in library service. For over 25 years I worked as a children's librarian in the Maplewood Library, a job which enabled me to accompany my zoologist husband on many research trips. Art was always a part of my life: I did a lot of illustration as part of my library job, and wrote and illustrated three books on historic architecture of the West Indies. There was never any time to have children, although I finished raising my husband's son, and remain close to him and his family.
I took early retirement in 1996 so I could spend more time painting. I do sell my work (when I can), but my life supports my art, rather than the other way around. I've also added a hobby of making jewelry of fused glass (I have a small kiln), and to my surprise sell it.
I moved to a senior living apartment in 2015, near my former home. And I travel whenever I can!
