2 weeks after graduation I started school at Cal Poly, SLO. I graduated 4 years later with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a Minor in Spanish. It was fun but I thought I should try out a "college town." I went to Chico State to get my teaching credential and get into some trouble while there. I spent time with the Monterey boys who were there (Dane, Armen, Todd, Scott and Thang Ho to name a few). I never intended to end up here, back in Monterey, but I got a job teaching in Salinas and it seems to have been a good fit. I've been working for the Salinas City Elementary School District ever since. After teaching for about 7 years, I finished my Masters program. Now I've been a principal for about 3 years. It's a rewarding career. Right about the same time as getting my Masters, I re-aquainted myself with Shay Balesteri (we knew him as Shay Campbell) from Monterey High. We got married in August of 2007, where Jen Pearson roasted me in front of the whole crowd. She is actually quite a fantastic public speaker. That's a lot more of an update than I intended to give.
