After High School, I attended Orange Coast then transferred to Mexico City College (MCC) a "division" of Ohio State University - all classes were in English and transferred without difficulty. Met my wife-to-be there who was attending MCC with her roommate - both were attending Western Washington State College - roommate was a Spanish major and wanted the foreign experience so she and my wife-to-be went to Mexico. Long story short - wife's family moved to Alaska after the war in 1948, consequently she grew up in Alaska - parents were a fun combination - he a Swede, she a Norwegian - made for many fun and humorous times - I've been in Alaska since 1964 and haven't regretted one bit of it. Managed to finish my Bachelor's and then later went back for my MBA. Spent 20 some years in Banking traveling around the State of Alaska as I climbed the Corporate latter - retired around the turn of the century - ran a small consulting firm working with former bank clients - it was during this time I completed a four-year contract with the University of Alaska Anchorage under the auspices of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) where I conducted two Three-week workshops during the spring and fall for the newly found entrepreneurs in the Russian Far East assisting in developing business skills and introducing them to corporate life as we know it. I was fortunate to spend time in the Russian Far East city of Khabarovsk and Jewish community of Birobijan. In 2003 I was offered the opportunity to be the chief financial officer at the Port of Anchorage where I've been since.
Family has always played a very important part in my and wife's maturing - so now with seven grandchildren we are still "soccer parents," "hockey puckers" and "hoop hounds" - as a result we hardly have time for home-maintenance or honey-do's and shoulda-coulda-woulda is the operative phrase - - Enjoyed the re-union and seeing former classmates (notice I said "former" and not "old classmates") and hope to keep in touch with some you in the future - - funny how now we can look back at what we've done or didn't do, and say "who would have thunk it!"
Wife passed in 2018 after 54 years of growing up together - - - we had started "down sizing" in anticipation of future physical limitations so I've continued the process - also we earnestly attacked the travel experience and I have continued that as well - - - I was looking forward to our 60 year re-union, but with all this "covid" stuff it put the kibosh on all travel plans - hopefully the back half of 2021 will allow more travel and maybe a re-union of 1960-1961-1962 grads ...........
