Right after Cooper, I went to McMurry for about a year and a half before I got engaged. Some 5 or so months after I got engaged, I left school to raise my son. Since then, I was a stay-at-home mom for my two boys and homemaker for my husband. I got divorced in 2008 and have never been happier.
My first job after coming out of my cave (so to speak) was a server at the MCM Elegante. I think it's kinda funny; I served you your dinner at the reunion! Did you see me?
I've also worked part time as an "administrative assistant" out on the windmill sites in South Trent, and then I was at Lowe's on the north side of Abilene.
For a while, I was a full time seamstress. I enjoyed working at home, but got burnt out quickly. Still, I’ve got a consuming love for all things costume.
Went back to food service, this time as a lunch lady. Do not recommend; hierarchy is catty in my experience.
Tried retail again, this time at Academy sports and outdoors. It worked for me for a while, then finally ended up with BCBS. It’s refreshing to be treated as a human by your employer.
At this point, life is good and I have no complaints. My boys are grown, but they are still my best friends. I wouldn’t change a thing, except for that time I broke my toe...it still hurts all of the time. XD
