Blanket my final resting place
With daisies turning their golden centers

Sandra Lea (Allbee) Lacy, “Sandy” (Age 78) - wife, mother, teacher, writer,
author, poet, musician, thespian passed on September 11, 2021, in
Colorado Springs, CO. Sandy was born on April 24, 1943, in Alamosa,
Colorado where she attended Central Grade School; Alamosa High School
- Class of 1961; and graduated from Adams State College in 1965 with a
B.A. in English Language and Literature, Speech-Theatre, and a minor in
Secondary Education. She took M.A. courses in Teaching and Cultural
Linguistics at Colorado State University.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 44 years Charles Lacy “Chuck”,
children Heather (Nossaman) Mulqueen, Dustin Lacy, and Jessica (Lacy)
Driscoll, and her rescue cat Bindi.

Sandy, the youngest child of Claudius “Evan” and Cora “Ellen” (Gillespie)
Allbee, and youngest sibling of Ronald, Roy, Charles “Charlie”, and Sharon
(all deceased), was called home to be reunited and celebrate with her
parents and siblings, on what would have been her parents 92nd wedding
anniversary.

Sandy has lived in Silverton, Mancos, and the Denver Metro Area,
Colorado; Southern and Central California; Seattle, Washington; Baltimore,
Maryland; returning to her home state of Colorado, settling down with her
husband Chuck in Colorado Springs after retirement.

“Sandy, like a beach” - how she always introduced herself, had several
careers throughout her life, but her passions were writing and teaching. At
the age of nine she wrote her first poem “Our Flag” which sparked her
desire to continue to write throughout her life which produced two published
works: Insight Out, the Collected Poems of Sandra Allbee Lacy, and Pepe
and Lupita and the Great Yawn Jar.

Sandy always had an original poem on the tip of her tongue that she would
generously share/recite for those who would listen. It was her way of giving
a part of herself to the world.

A graveside Funeral and Celebration of Life, will be held on Saturday,
September 25, 2021 (2:00 pm) at Alamosa Municipal Cemetery - 2200
State Ave., Alamosa, CO 81101, The family will gather after the service for
a casual get together at a local establishment. Details will be given at the
