We received this e-mail from Joe's wife, Peggy:
"I am Peggy McGee, Joe McGee's wife. He was your classmate, and we were thinking of coming to the reunion if he was better, but he lost his fight with cancer on December 4th, 2010.
Joe and I were married for nearly 38 years. He helped me raise my 2 children besides our three girls. Joe continued in the oilfield for many years, however, he also drove an 18 wheeler cross country for several years before he retired. We have 7 grand children."

Occupation: Driller for Global Marine (off-shore drilling)
I worked in both Texas and New Mexico in the oilfield for several years. I also was rodeoing at the same time. I worked for Alsbaugh Rodeo Company for several years and for Rocky Mountain Rodeo Company another few years.
I was in the U. S. Army for 1967-69 and served in Viet Nam. When I came out of the service, I rodeoed for several more years and worked in the oilfield in West Texas and Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma, I met peggy and we married in 1973. We moved to South Texas, where she is from and settled in Beeville. We lived for two years in Singapore while I worked for an oilfield company. I started working for Global Marine in 1980 and have worked offshore in Brazil, West Africa, Louisiana and Texas.
We have three daughters, Lisa who is seventeen, and twins, Tammi and Lori, who are thirteen. Peggy teaches Special Education in junior high and I am still drilling for Global Marine.

Joe was part of the family of the little yellow buss that picked us up for 12 years . We were the farm kids west side of alamosa off of Hwy 17. We had the greatest Buss driver any kids could ever have. When he passed we were driven in a newer buss. But the Old One Was the best.
Thanks Joe, for you and your sisters, O the stories we could share from those days. I injoyed knowing you and your sisiters. Rest in pease. Dorothy Rolling
