Elvina "Bobbie" Medina
Sanford resident Elvinia “Bobbie” Medina, 78, died May 15, 2021, at the Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs.
Elvinia was born in Capulin, Colorado on September 8, 1942, to Juan Medina and Isabelle Mondragon Medina.
Elvinia loved spending time in the outdoors camping and fishing. In her earlier years, she would sew and knit many items for her family and friends. More recently she enjoyed reading books and spending winters in Texas and Arizona while traveling around the countryside with her companion Joe Medina. One of her favorite hobbies was gambling.
She is survived by her children Elizabeth (Nano) Arellano of Alamosa, Dino (Lorraine) Arellano of Alamosa, Jessie (Paula) Medina of Pueblo, CO, Evie (Selina) Medina of Pueblo, CO and Dominic (Lisa) Medina of Yampa, CO; her significant companion Joe Medina of Sanford; her siblings Alex (Janice) Medina of Alamosa and Angie Salinas of Pueblo, CO; her grandchildren Jocelyn and Robbie, Rudy and Judy, Chris and Rochell, Jonny, Brian and David, Aylia, Mary and Stacey, Joshua, Ray and Brittany, Samantha, Dino, Devon, Trevor, Ivanka, Bryanna, Isabelle and Ben; as well as 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Elvinia is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Isabelle, her son Tommy Arellano, her siblings Leroy and Frances Medina, Willie and Corine Medina, her grandchildren D’Angelo and Jessie Arellano, Michael Medina and Alexis Lakey.
A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 20th at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held 9:30 am followed by the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alamosa. Interment will follow services in the Alamosa Cemetery.
