Connie Monter, 55

MONTE VISTA — Monte Vista resident, Mrs. Connie Monter, 55; died May 17, 1998, at her home in Monte Vista.

Mrs. Monter was born in Alamosa on April 7,1943, to Louis and Mildred Belle Timmins Higel. She was preceded in death by her parents and also her husband Raymond Monteron June 24, 1985.

Mrs. Monter was a physical therapist in the San-Luis Valley and northern New Mexico for more than 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista where she served as church organist.

Survivors include her children, Brian (Jennifer) Gray of McKinney, Texas, Steven Monter and Diedra Monter of Oklahoma, and Mara A. .Monter and Joe Ray Monter, both of Monte Vista. She is also survived by her brother Jim (Janet) Higel of Alamosa.

Recitation of the Rosary and Vigil Service will be held Wednesday, May 20, at 7 p.m. at the Rogers Family Mortuary Chapel in Alamosa. The Funeral mass will be Thursday, May 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church through the mortuary office.
