Kenneth Corky Larson

Kenneth "Corky" Larson was born in Texas and moved to Arizona from Alamosa, CO.   He had won several awards for his custom automobile painting.

"Corky" was a self-employed painter.  He died at age 41 on Jan. 16, 1985, at his Phoenix residence.  He attended school in Alamosa, CO, and was a classmate of the class of 1961.  He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Barr, class of 1962, on December 26, 1962.

"Corky" is survived by a daughter, Carrie Moore: a son, Jeffery Moore: his mother, Patricia  Wildermann: a sister and a brother.

Corky Larson was a clasmate for nearly 12 years. he died tragically in the early 90's. today (Sept. 30, 2016) in the arizona repulic it was announced that Corky will be inducted into the Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame on Oct 1, at the Canyon Speedway in peoria, AZ. .As far as i know he is the first classmate to be inducted into any hall of fame. Corky was a well known painter of nascar race cars. His dad, Don, raced west of alamosa during the 50's in a car sponsored by McDermith motors in Alamosa.

From the Arizona Motorsports Hall of Fame Facebook page Sept. 25, 2016 - Corky Larson, '' Corky's Trick Paint'' will be inducted into the Arizona Motor Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday night Oct. the 1st at Canyon Raceway. Corky was noted for some of the most elaborate paint schemes on race cars through out the country in the 60s, 70s and 80s. The induction ceremony, will be part of the Hall of Fame Classic, a two day event at Canyon Raceway on Friday night Sept.30th and Saturday night Oct.1st featuring USAC/CRA 410 sprint cars. There will also be an autograph session from 5 to 7 pm on Saturday night, with several of the famous drivers from the past.
