(From the 30th Reunion Book - 1991)

Name: Bob McKelvie

Spouse's Name: Karen

Children: Bobbie

Occupation: Owner - Auto Body Shop

I have spent the last 30 years interested in much the same things.  I've been with my wife Karen for 30 years and have been in the auto body repair business for the same years.  My work has taken me to New Mexico, Texas, Southern California and last Northern California.  I own a business here in Redding; it is Precision Auto Body.  I finished building a shop at my residence last year where I'm building the old 50's cars.  This shop is for fun.  I keep a bass buggy in this shop just in case I get tired of cars.

(From Bob's wife, Karen)

Bob McKelvie spent most of his life in the auto body business for his livelihood.  He restored old cars for a dearly loved hobby.  The cars he restored were not restored back to original.  His cars were all made to be hot rods.  Bob was married to Karen since he was seventeen years of age and had one child, a girls named Bobbie Lynn.  Bob visited his sisters, Cindy Piancino and Sandy Ferri as often as he could.  California is a long ways from Raton, New Mexico.

Living in California was heaven for Bob's hobby.  He was extremely instrumental in developing the biggest car show in Northern California.  Kool April Nites is known all over the United States.  Bob built a 1050 Ford sedan, a 1950 Chevy coupe and a 1956 Chevy pick-up for his personal use and was happy to have won awards in Reno at Hot August Nites and at many Goodguys shows.  He took awards most every time he showed his cars.  Bob's relationship with long time friend Morris Richardson never faltered.  They followed each other wherever to whatever state the other one moved.  Bob passed away in 1998 and is greatly missed by all who knew him.
