Julia Grace Garrett, 63

OREGON - Oregon and former Alamosa, Colo. resident, Julia Grace Garrett, 63, died Oct. 5, 2006 in Oregon.  She was born Sept. 16, 1943 to Samuel George and Grace Garrett in Alamosa.  Julia was raised in Alamosa and graduated from Sangre de Cristo High School in Mosca, Colo. in 1961.  She went to nursing school in Alamosa and graduated in 1993.

She left Alamosa in 1985 and lived in Oregon on and off for the past 20 years.  She worked as an LPN in nursing homes in Sweethome, Ore., and at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Truth or Consequesnces, NM.  She enjoyed arrowhead hunting, reading and sewing.

She is survived by her bothers, Gene (Jackie) Garrett of Monte Vista, Colo., Billey Dale (Linda) Garrett of Mosca; by five nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel George and Grace Garrett in 1987.
