Wildland Firefighter 1983 - 2013

After Retirement, I continue to work yearly at the Albuquerque Interagency Fire Center, located at the Cibola N.F. during the fire season from May thru July, as a Fire Dispatcher.. 3 months of work is good enough for me these days.

I'm a Jemez Pueblo Tribal Member and involved in the culture, also did farming growing chile, corn and other crops

A funny story at RG: Attending an elective class: "Bachelors Know-How" we were taught to operate a sewing machine and made neckties and learned to cook. I made cookies and passed them out in my Typing Class, and my cookies tasted horrible, where ppl were leary there after.

In my Art Class we made pottery and the next week, my pottery showed cracks and I covered the cracks with another layer and the next week was the same. Finally after few weeks it was time to fire the pottery in the kiln. I was told someone's pottery blew up and destroyed everyone's pottery, I acted surprised and pretentec to be upset !!
