English Teacher - 1967 - 1968

Though I taught just one year at Fort Hunt, memories of names and faces overwhelm me, now more than 50 years later. I'm sorry to read that the other English teachers at the time seemingly have all passed. Sadder still, some of my students, as well. Ars longa, vita brevis.

School Story:

Completed M.A. and then Ph.D. in English at Pennsylvania State University. Taught literature at Marymount Manhattan College, NYC, NY 1972-75.

Changed careers, ultimately retiring as a Systems Developer, Accounting Systems, from TIAA-CREF in 2000.

Teach for a few more years.

Though I taught English in Anne Jaekel's department for only one year (1967-68), Ms. Seidel was always supportive of me in that first year of teaching straight out of undergraduate school. We exchanged ideas, laughed in the faculty room, and I still remember her dedication to the profession.  I'm sorry to read that she's passed.
