Moved to California during the summer of 1978, graduated from Huntington Beach HS (definitely no Fort Hunt!). On to Orange Coast College to play basketball and go to class enough to stay eligible (yeah I was one of those students). Parents moved to Va Bch after my freshman year, but I stayed out west; after one year felt 3000 miles was too far away and transferred to UCONN.
Left UCONN after a year and a half, but without a year and a half of credits; moved home and started working at Bank of America thanks to the help of Pat (Takane) Brown who was also working there. Then worked for the State Department in foreign service retirement department. After almost two years I decided it was time to finish my degree so started part-time at George Mason and got a cooperative education job at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Public Relations. Finished up my college buffet of a degree at Mason in 1987 and stayed at NAVFAC in PR. Got a part-time gig coaching basketball at Marymount University in Arlington.
Decided to switch careers and two years later became the first full-time head women's basketball coach/sports information director at St. Mary's College of MD. After four years moved on to Rosemont College (PA) as the athletic director/head women's basketball coach. From there moved to Wheaton College (MA) as the assistant athletic director and most recently I was the athletic director at College of Notre Dame of MD. During this time I also got my masters and recently earned my doctorate and am now back in MA looking for my next gig . . .any ideas? offers? :-) Never mind . . . found it, my goal was to switch from college coaching to teaching and that's what I'm doing. After the reunion it is back to MA to pack and then it is off to Alabama! I'll be living in Spanish Fort and working in Daphne, across the bay from Mobile! :-D
Obviously still been doing that moving around thing that I got used to growing up with a dad in the US Coast Guard.
2016 Update: Moved back to MA in 2012, and am now teaching full-time at Northeastern University in their sports leadership graduate program.
