Glen Echo Spanish Ballroom

I go dancing at Glen Echo Park in the Spanish Ballroom on friday nights.  It is a lot of fun.  If some people are interested that might not be a bad activity.

Jim,

Will people be able to socialize with the dancing going on? Alice

Alice,

they're about 300 - 400 people who go on friday nights as I do.  Not all of them dance at once and you can sit out when you want so there is time for conversation.  Good group of people.  It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I thought it might be an option.

Robert how are you?  I go dancing at Glen Echo they have different types of dance, Blues, Contra, Waltz.  The Spanish Ballroom is a wonderful place to dance - art deco building built in the 1930's.  I don't know if you have been there lately.  They get about 300-400 people  a night.  It is a nice place to go and forget your troubles for a while.  Hope all is well with you.

Hi guys,

Started a dancing class w/ my wife last night (first dance was the Tango). Terrified to go, but once there I really enjoyed it.  Can't believe how much work it can be, but worth the effort....

Jim,

I'm with you on the photo, what in the world?? I can't believe my Mom let me out of the house like that.   I'm so thankful Napolean Dynamite wasn't on while we were in school, I wouldn't have survived the comments (by the way- I'm contemplating a law suit, no way they didn't get that character from me in my younger days)...........

OMG! It's been such a long time since I've seen anyone from FHHS.  I'm living in Colorado since 9 years.  Married for 20 years, no kids.  I think we should have "THEN" and "NOW" pictures.  Anyone out my way?  I see some of us are still living near the "home" turf.  Thank you for providing this service.  The site looks great.  I will have to upload some pictures from Colorado.  Such a beautiful place.  I wish I could go dancing with you guys.  At least you have found something fun to do besides seeing movies.  Much love, Barbro :)

See, I was smart enough way back when to avoid having my picture taken for the yearbook senior year.  Very keen forsight on my part.

Unfortunately I did end up in it several times, courtesy of Becky Smith, our intrepid year book photographer, but not in the standard "deer in the headlights" pose.  One memorable photo had me standing next to Mike Capeletti, me hold two beers and him holding a smoking device that may or may not have been in use for the dispensation of illegal substances.

That's why my year book is long gone.  Can't have that around for the kids to see.
