Bio:
Graduated from REI, Fredericksburg, VA, and started my television career at WNVT, Annandale, VA. Worked as a television news editor at NBC News 1977-2017. Traveled the globe covering political news for decades and worked from the Washington Bureau of NBC News on Nightly News, the Today Show, and Meet the Press in more recent years. Recipient of two National Academy of Arts and Sciences News and Documentary Emmy Awards, one for Individual Achievement in Editing for First Camera (1983) and one for Olympic coverage in Australia (2000). Recipient of three Edward R. Murrow Awards, one for News Series (2009) and two for Writing (2006 and 2007).
Married to Paula Dennis, graduate of neighboring Annandale High School and Hood College, Frederick, MD, and now retired after a career as a registered nurse.
Proud parents and grandparents; our youngest is still in grad school.
Active in historic preservation; loved living in Clifton, VA, Waterford, VA, and Jefferson County, WV. Avid supporters of Maryland Symphony Orchestra, Hagerstown, and American Shakespeare Center, in Staunton, Virginia. Active community volunteer at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hagerstown.
