S S (S) (1973)

Bobby was killed returning to Alice from his job in Kingsville. While riding his motorcycle north on FM 79 a woman made a left turn in front of him causing him to hit the broadside of her car. He died sometime later in a Corpus hospital.

He was survived by his wife, Madeline Foy Wilkerson (WAHS '68) and two sons, Matt and Seth, his sister Vicki Vanderslice (WAHS '67) and his mother, Violet Herrington Peterson.

Casimiro (Casey) Garza, Jr (1965)

Fond great memories of "funning" with him, Larry Branch, and Ricky Patterson. We lived close to each other on Blue Bonnet Street.  We would pool our money together and go down to the Dew Drop Inn and buy a box of 22 round ammunition.  Rickey had two rifles, Larry his and Bobby had one.  We'd go down to the San Diego Creek and shoot at anything that moved, or even if it didn't.  We couldn't have been more then 13-14, and can't imagine me letting my kids at that age doing such a thing.  Bobby, Larry and I eventually ended up in Vietnam, and it seemed to not only change us, but separate us as well.  Bobby and Larry are now gone, no idea where Ricky ended up.  Both of his parents drowned in Lake Alice, and not sure what happened after that. Long time ago, it seems but at the same time, seems like just yesterday......"yesterday when we were young".

Casey, Ricky Patterson lives in Corpus Christi.  His parents drowned on July 17, 1965.  His sister, Sharon Patterson Maggie, was maid of honor in my wedding to Dan Hand (class of 1965).
