(Elsik) Michelle Engelman Berns

Boy oh boy that 30 year reunion was a hoot. So wonderful to see everyone an to feel like a kid and sing and dance and drink and LAUGH!!! Thanks Lori and everyone who made it such a great evening. On to reality, and the work-a-day world!!!! Been working as a custom art framer and artist/writer/photographer/preparator for many years now, of course you know by now Chris Berns and I married as late blooming lovers, we dated at Elsik then he moved an we reunited 20 something years later. It may sound corny, but we ARE that couple you talk about that fell in love and never fell out. He retired from the US Coast Guard after 23 years and works in he private sector for LA County Sheriff as a helicopter avionics specialist. We are reduculioisly happy. We Love Long Beach CA, LBC, and have bought a little stucco house built in 1929 and are restoring it. I'm working to help start a Grocery Co-op here ( one of only 3 currently in ALL of Southern CA) Not sure if we will be able to make the 35th reunion, but we will try. It's been great reconnecting with everyone.

Monty Python jokes in English class and conversations about "earth science, earthships and ecology" and big belt buckles, were the things that sealed the connection of my high school boyfriend and now (25 years later) husband Chris Berns.. the spark in High school burned on, and finally fanned into a flame. How lucky am I? really really lucky. we have been all around the world, and have recently bought a house and settled in Long Beach California. we are proud parents Chris works for LA County Sheriff dept working on helicopters still and fishes as often as possible. we are die hard SPURS fans, GoSpursGo! ...and so it goes.
