Comments:

I went to college, that didn't work, so I went down to Florida and the only thing you could do, without knowing anything, was to work in the restaurant business, so I did, and have been ever since. When I came back here I met Al, I actually picked him up hitch-hiking on my way back from work very late at night. That was 1982. We lived in West Deer with the kids over 18 years, when my mother died we inherited the house so we're back in Hampton. Now it's back to him and me, we've taken up dancing, mostly the tango, it's something else. I love it.

School Story:

Anyone remember the "Art Room Club"? Eating lunch on the "Dice"? Playing Risk in the art room storage room, or other activities we did there. Those are my good memories, and going over the hill to make brownies! The art room, and having more classes in it than were allowed.
Mr. King's enthusiasm of Shakespeare spilling over and Mr. Art Chero, boy did he like to stir the pot! Mostly I remember, "Quick, get the senator back on the bus!" that was "firesign theater", as a qoute from the ARC.

Barb and I became friends when she moved from Minnesota to Hampton in 1966, she could draw a horse better than anyone, I was in awe. Sixth grade can be a difficult age, trying to fit in and not realy knowing how to, or with who. Barb and I hit it off, she was quiet, so was I. That was grade school.
Over the years we were in the same circles of friends, the art room was our sanctuary, many people, and great times come to mind. High school was wonderful, we were all so full of life.
We reconnected about 10 years ago when a dear friend won tickets to a concert. (My husband went in lieu of me, it was an artist he's a great fan of.) We all watched and held our breaths when we heard Bard would be going into another surgury, she'd been through so very much. Our hearts held and broke with the  knowledge another cancer had attacked her. I loved her for so many years in the way you hold your school friends that cross over into "over-night" home friends.
I miss her, I will always miss her...
