Attended Michigan Tech with classmates Ron Young and Wayne Daily. After graduating, worked as an engineer in Jackson at Clark Equipment, then Ford in Dearborn before going back to Jackson. Changed careers to manufacturing management at Haworth in Holland, Michigan, before moving to Chicagoland in 1980 shortly after marrying my wife, Mina, who I met while in Dearborn.
I have now worked at Navistar (was International Harvester when I started) for over thirty years. Continued my education at Northwestern University earning a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering. I live in the northwest suburbs not far from the Fox River where we enjoy boating. Not the same as growing up on Lake Winyah, but it is the only water available short of the big lake. Golf is readily available at my backdoor, but somehow living on a course doesn't make me any better. Who would have thought.
I have been a member of Lost Lake Woods in Lincoln since my parents moved there in 1970 after many years on Long Rapids Road. I make it back at least once a year and I have deer hunted there every year but one when I was traveling for business.
Haven't given retirement much thought, still enjoy what I do, but it is nice knowing that I could retire if I wanted to.
I see two relatives will also be attending, Ken Rhoads, first cousin once removed and Kay Leathead (Zinsle) a 2nd or 3rd cousin.
