I agree with what John said about the reunion. It was very well done and I had a great time. The only improvement would have been if more people had danced, but that cannot be forced. But, possibly for the next reunion some type of group dancing might be encouraged, like line dancing or hoke pokie or something like that. Just to get more people involved and moving those bodies (which we all need). Just a suggestion also for the next reunion you might ask who still has their class ring and who can still wear their class ring. Again the committee did an outstanding job. Thanks for making our reunion so good.

The compliments are very much appreciated. The evening went by to fast but thank you to all our classmates for coming and enjoying the evening. We look forward to the 55th reunion. Enjoy the web site and stay in touch with each other. We are going to try and find a way to put Mark Patterson's pictures he took on here or anyone else that can upload pictures would be appreciated so all of us can see them. Thanks, Cindy Kodros Garvey

I thought the turn out for mixer was great I wish there were name tags that night since we did not attend the Dinner on Saturday because of another occasion. Will be happy to attend 55th reunion. Looking forward to photos from the Dinner.

I just ran across a newspaper article that stated the class of 1959 had 472 students. Just thought I would throw that out since that was a question we all seemed to have at the reunion.

Wow! It is a good thing I finally was smart enough to read the DATES these things were posted, otherwise I was thinking I sure didn't see these people last week at the 55th. For all those who were able to make it to the 55th, it was great seeing everyone. I just wish more of the local grads could have made it as it would have been even better than it already was.  The committee that worked on the 55th did an excellent job and should be proud of themselves, I for one appreciated the hard work that was done and give you lots of credit for overcoming some of the obstacles that were placed before them. Thank you!

I want to thank the committee for al the work they did in putting together the details for the 55 class reunion. Cindy did a great jog of informing us out of town class members on details I did not know like restaurant, etc.. I want to thank Tom Caffey for a composite picture of all the seniors who played football on the 1959 team. It would have been nice if some of my class classmates from the hill would have been there or I just plain did not recognized you. By the way I did have to use my GPS to find certan locations like the location of the reunion.

It was worth my drive from Texas.

In a week or two I'll try to post a slide show url of sites around Alton. Mark Patterson, class member, photograph the the class members who attend the reunion.

Dave,  I wish I could have seen everyone but thanks for the compliment about the reunion.  The committee worked hard trying to pull it together.   Mark Patterso is getting the pictures ready to post so we all owe him a big thanks for doing this year after year.  I can still remember Mark walking around with his big camera on his shoulder at the 5th Class reunion at the Godfrey Civic Center.  Thanks to him we can keep these memories alive.   Glad you had fun Dave.   Cindy

I have put together a 7 plus minute video slide show of my short stay in Alton HS 55 class reunion. The video slide show shows ( 50ies music, maps, captions, zooms & etc) with the fall color in the area and familiar area sites. To watch it you will have to copy the URL below and paste it in your browsers ( Microsoft Explore, Google or Firefox etc).

Very well done David.  Those of us who have moved away are reminded of the beauty and history of Alton and the surrounding area, especially in the fall.

smileyWOW!  David you did a GREAT job.  Thanks for your slide show.  winkyes  55 year reunion committee you did a WONDERFUL job putting together such a good reunion event.  I was impressed that so many of my classmates remembered me because I would have not know them without their name tags, guess I am just getting old (or something else - something that takes away memories??)  Seriously Diane and I had a great time and really enjoyed dancing with everybody.  The line dances were a lot of fun as well as everything else, good food, good fellowship, just a wonderful experience that I will remember for a long time.  Thanks again to the 55 year committee for a wonderful job.

The slide show was wonderful.  We sure don't have colors like that here.  Of course, we don't have that many trees in Vegas unless you drive up to Mt. Charleston.  We ( my sister, Myrna (Phipps) Jones) enjoyed the events.  We didn't stay for the dancing but it looked like it would have been fun.  I have some pictures to send soon.  Thanks again for sharing.
