I was born in Alton. Both of my parents were teachers in the Alton Public School System, this after they received degrees from their corresponding universities. My Dad has a master’s degree from the University of Illinois. They both, of course, are now deceased.
After my college, I was in the Air Force as an officer where I flew military aircraft. I became an United States Air Force pilot instructor. After my five years, I left the United States Air Force and became employed by International Business Machines (IBM). I worked for IBM for many years in the technical area that worked with new customers of IBM computers. I became an overall manager of this operation in Austin, Texas. Thereafter, I was transferred to Atlanta, Georgia. Soon afterward, I retired from IBM.
Then, I began to work for COX Communication. I retired from COX Communication in 2009.
I met my wife, while in the United States Air Force, in Arizona, where she is a graduate of Arizona State University.
