CARL 'BUTCH' DICKINSON

GODFREY - Carl "Butch" Evan Dickinson, 73, died at 6:05 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014, at OSF St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton.

Born December 10, 1940 in Alton, he was the son of Carl H. and Elsie (Vandergriff) Dickinson. He retired as a machinist from Owens Illinois after over 40 years of service. He loved fishing and being outdoors.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jeff Carver of Alton; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Carver Jr. and Annmarie Carver; and his life partner, Carolyn Wallace and her children. Also surviving are two brothers, Jim Dickinson (Vicki) of Alton, Kevan Dickinson (Cindy) of Hartford; a sister, Becky Wulf (Forrest) of Godfrey; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his previous wife, Judith Dickinson; and a sister, Susan Baker.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Steve Rice will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
