Diana Dooley (Macias)

Diana M. (Dooley) Macias, 69, passed away at 12:14 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Alton Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side.

She was born on March 28, 1941, in Alton, the daughter of Raymond and Edna (Carter) Dooley.

She married Cecil M. Macias on Oct. 25, 1975, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He survives.

She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church and retired from Jourdain Roofing in 2004 after 40 years of service. She was a member of the Alton VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and she enjoyed gardening, collecting dolls and crafts. She also loved her cats.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a special son and daughter-in-law, William and Christine Yenne of Brighton; one brother, John Dooley of Fosterburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Don Hudgens of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her special grandson, Neal Yenne; and sisters, Janice Lux and Maryann Rynders.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, with Father Shawn Monahan, OMV, officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Alton.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the 5A's animal shelter.
