DENNIS KAID
ALTON — Dennis A. Kaid, 75, died at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Born November 25, 1940, in Cottage Township, Saline County, Ill., he was the son of Emma (Davis) Osburn of Alton and the late Wendell R. Kaid.
Mr. Kaid served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sgt. for 9 ½ years and later in the Army Reserve for 10 years and was an avid genealogist. He was a police officer with the Alton Police Department from January 2, 1970, to January 2, 1992.
On September 14, 1973, he married the former Sue Peipert in Alton. She survives.
Along with his mother and wife, he is survived by five children, Robert Kaid (Ginny) of Utah, Darlene Kaid of Portage De Sioux, Mo., Valery Parker (Mark) of Alton, Sara Young (Keith) of Steeleville, Mo., and Douglas Kaid of Bloomington, Minn. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Anthony, Chad, Cody, Amber, Bobbi Jo, Kristen and Eli, nine great- grandchildren, Haylee, Jaxon, Addison, Ella, Landon, Carson, Addi, Mason and Aiden, along with one brother, Bob Osburn, and two sisters, Judi Kaid and Cindy Brunaugh.
He was preceded in death by his father.
There will be no services. In memory of Dennis, please make a donation this Christmas season to a Salvation Army Red Kettle.
Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
