Curtis Meyenburg

Curtis W. Meyenburg, 68, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Eldercare Nursing Home in Alton.
Born April 3, 1941, in Alton, he was the son of Herbert H. and Lois L. (Ripley) Meyenburg.
He was a Petty Officer First Class in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Unitarian Church in Alton, the Alton VFW Post 1308 and the American Legion. He worked for local auto body shops and then taught vocational auto body for two years in Hecker, Ill.
Surviving is his brother, Herbert Meyenburg of Godfrey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
No services will be held. Burial will be private. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.

Curtis and I were in school together, forever. He was someone you could count on - he was always there. Not too long ago, I found a silk scarf that he gave to me in a Mckinley grade school gift exchange. Those were fun days.
