Charles A. "Bunky" Reese, 69, passed away at 4:56pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1941, in Odessa, Texas the son of the late Forrest A. and Bernadine (Porter) Reese. He married the former Sandra Manns Griffin on December 20, 1969 in Alton and she survives in East Alton. Survivors include one son and daughter in law: Bart M. and Bobbie Reese of Alton, one step - daughter and her husband: Kimberly and Daniel Cruz of Bethalto, one step - son and his wife: Jeffrey and Teresa Griffin of Godfrey, five grandchildren: Joshua Reese of Alton, Taylor Reese of Eureka, Missouri, Shelby Reese, Ashley Reese, and Katie Reese all of Marthasville, Missouri, five step - grandchildren: Kelsey Cruz and Morgan Cruz both of Bethalto, Erin Griffin of Godfrey, Mackenzie Bryant of Alton, and Shawna Lowenstein of Alton, one sister: Wanda Westerhold of Bethalto. 

He was employed as a machinist at Owens - Illinois Glass Works in Godfrey for over 35 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Owls Club in Alton. He was a life member of Tony's Ranchhouse in Alton. He was a veteran of the United States Army. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step - daughter: Barbara Griffin, and a grandson: Brody Reese who preceded him in death on October 23, 2010. 

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial visitation will be from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Inurnment will be at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
