Obituary for Marilyn Quigley

Marilyn Quigley, 75, passed away at 7:40 pm Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born in Joliet, IL on January 4, 1941, the daughter of the late Marion and Bernice (Hellrung) Twichell.

Marilyn (Twichell) married John (Jack) Quigley on December 29, 1958. He survives.

Marilyn graduated from VFW Olin School of Nursing in 1977. She was employed as a licensed LPN at Alton Memorial Hospital and worked there for 15 years, most of her employment was spent in the OB/GYN department, spoiling the babies, a tradition which she continued with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren 

She is survived by her spouse of 58 years, and her children and their spouses; Tom and Linda Quigley of Alton, Tim and Debbie Quigley of Brighton, Marilyn and Rick Porter of Godfrey and Todd and Jenna Quigley of Brighton, 9 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Three sisters and their spouses; Janice Downing of Alton, Jackie and Ron Lesicko of Alton, and Carolyn and Mike Bradley of Godfrey and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Don, Joe, Jerry, Jim and Tom Twichell

In celebration of her life a visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 4 pm until time of the Eulogy service at 7:30 pm at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10 am, Monday, September 12, 2016 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Father John Paul Klein as celebrant. 

Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton, IL.

Memorials may be made to Madison County Humane Society.
