SAVAGE, Minn. - Wayne E. Harris, 54, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1996, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born May 1, 1941, in Alton. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with degrees in physics and mathematics. He then attended Bowling Green State University, where he was enrolled in the Executive Masters of Business Administration Program.

He was employed for 20 years by Owens-Illinois of Toledo, Ohio. In 1985, he moved to Minneapolis-St Paul, where he held executive positions at General Mills, CVN and First Bank Systems. At the time of his death, he was the senior vice president of information systems for First Security Banks in Salt Lake City.

From 1994 to 1995, he took a break from the corporate world to start an information systems consulting practice, The McCall Group. Also during this time, he perfected his art of fly fishing in Minnesota, Wyoming and Idaho lakes and streams. Throughout his life he was active in sports and the outdoors. Since 1981, he was devoted to the care and raising of Old English sheepdogs and served on the board of directors for the Old English Sheepdog Club of America.

Surviving are his wife, Marnie, of Savage; a son, Marc, of Atlanta; his mother, Elizabeth Schroer, of Dellwood, Mo.; and a brother, Morris, of Pawnee.
