William ‘Brother' Herron Sr.

William "Brother" Herron Sr., 67, died at 4:36 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born March 21, 1940, in Alton to the union of the late Willie and Pattie Hutchinson Herron.
He married Marie Jelks in 1970. He was the proud parent of eight children.
He attended Alton public schools. He retired from Elder Care Nursing Home in Alton in 2006. He was a member of deliverance Temple COGIC.
In addition to his loving wife, Marie, of Alton, he leaves to cherish his memory seven children, William Herron Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., Chambula Divine and Pamela Parham of St. Louis, Winston (Brenda) Herron of Jacksonville, Ill., Wendell (Yarnell) Herron of Alton, Shonda (Joao) Paulo of Columbus, Ohio, and Darice Herron of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Donna Herron of Waco, Texas; nine siblings, Joyce (Sam) Morgan, Maurice (Zora) Herron, Brenda (Larry) Beard, Darlene Robinson, Gloria Winn, all of Alton, Ethel Mclemore and Melva Gordon, both of Waggoner, Okla., Christopher (Leslie) Robinson of Decatur and Willie Mae Carper of Compton, Calif.; two special friends, CleophusBeamon and Joe Holliday Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
