Floyd Wayne Stice, 63, died at 11 p m Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at St Louis Hospital
He was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Winchester, Ill., to Floyd H. and Rowena Adella (Freesen) Stice.
He married the former Roseann M Robien on Nov 21, 2003. She survives.
He worked as an adjuster in metallic manufacturing at Olin Corp for 37 years and retired in 1995. He was a member of the East Alton American Legion and was an avid turkey and deer hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving from 1963 to 1965.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Jeff Bartow of East Alton; two stepsons, Tom Robien of Godfrey and Mike Robien of East Alton; one grandchild, Bayley; two stepgrandchildren, Jeffery and Corey Bartow; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Ed Schaberg of Godfrey, Mary and Jim Mihalich and Frieda and Edmond Eyster, all of East Alton, and Margaret and Pete Schwegel of Alton; two sisters-in-law, Norma Stice of Fosterburg and Sue Stice of Bethalto; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Ginger Stice of Bethalto and Richard and Judy Stice of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Stice and Dorothy Moore; and two brothers, Joe and Robert Stice.

I first met Wayne in grade school on the playground at Clara Barton. We both went different ways and we would run into each other ever so often. I always liked Wayne and we teased each other about having the same name. Sorry about his passing.
