His son who lives in Florida, told me via Facebook that an obituary was in Fort Myers News-Press for 22 Feb 1993. News-Press obituaries are online only back to 1999.
I'm still working on finding that obituary. Notice the two different dates. I'm of the opinion that Feb 15 was death date per Social Security Death Index and Feb 22 may be the death filing date.

I remember Robert from football practice at West Jr. High school. He was so big and he would always slow down and sorta turn away just before he got tackled. I used to think why doesn't he just hit the person tackling him hard because Robert was so big the other guy would get the worse out of it. But as I have matured (fancy word) I realize that no matter what your size, nobody likes pain. I always liked Robert and am sorry to learn about his passing.
