Dr. F. Scott Hendrickson, DDS, 63, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Alton Memorial Hospital.

The son of Maxine (Holliday) Hendrickson of Alton and the late Henry Frank Hendrickson, he was born Jan. 3, 1941, in Alton.

A practicing dentist in Granite City for 30 years, he had served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and worked as a dentist for the USS Sierra, stationed at Norfolk, Va.

He was a member of the River of Life Church in Godfrey and was the president of the USS Sierra (AD-18) Veteran's Association. He was also a member and past president of the Illinois State Dental Society, member of the DESMOS of Delta Sigma Delta International fraternity, Eagles 254, Alton American Legion Post 126, Alton VFW Post 1308 and of the Audubon Society.

He enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds and loved his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, surviving are three sisters and their husbands, Karen and William Walter of Alton, Vicki and Vic Christian of Bloomington, 111., and Marsha and Matt Morgan of Godfrey; two nieces, Allison and Emily Morgan of Godfrey; two nephews, Brad Christian and his wife, Angie, of Brighton and Chris Christian of Bloomington; a great-niece and nephew, Kailie Christian and Brent Jones; an aunt, Lucille Mortland of Richmond, Va.; and many cousins and friends.
