John Ford

 John A. Ford, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at his home.

He was born Jan. 26, 1941, in Alton to Lee Alan and Lila (Shelton) Ford.

He married the former Judy Chiolero on Aug. 6, 1960, in Alton. She survives.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served his country from 1959 to 1963. He was formerly employed as a supervisor at Owens-Illinois Glass Works, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey. He was a former member of the Alton VFW Post 1308 and the Alton/Wood River Sportsman’s Club.

 In addition to his wife, survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Patty Ford of Coral Springs, Fla.; one daughter, Janice Eaton of Alton; four grandchildren, Derek Ford, Conor Ford, Taylor Eaton and Kylie Eaton; one brother and his wife, Phil and Joan Ford of Wood River; one sister and her husband, Sharon and Mike Schreiber of Alton; a special sister-in-law, Joan Smith of Alton; a special niece and her family, Monica and Rick Crivello and their children, Jessica and Brandon Crivello; a special nephew, Matt Smith, and his daughter, Hannah Smith; his mother, Lila Sunderland of Alton; and many nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Vic Ford; and one brother-in-law, James Smith.
