RALPH J. JACKSON

Ralph."Jack" J. Jackson, 42, of Cottage Hills, died at 9:26 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 1985, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Alton, Sept. 22, 1942, the son of the late Ralph and Mary Ellen (Nickel) Jackson, he had been an automobile salesman for over 10 years at a Chevrolet dealership.
He married the former Carol Fullager on Sept. 22, 1972 in Alton. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Cindy Jackson of Cottage Hills; two sons, William of Cottage Hills and Joseph of East Alton; one grandchild; his step-grandmother, Mayme Nickel of Alton; two brothers, Glen and James, both of Alton; and two sisters, JoAnn Dillon of Alton and Dona Wright of Roxana.
Memorial services were conducted at Smith Funeral Home in Alton at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, with the Rev. Paul King officiating.
Memorials are to the Diabetes Foundation and the American Heart Association.

He certainly did have a great voice. I still remember the Friday night dances at the Masonic Temple, and Ralph singing "At the Hop," sounding just like Johnny and the Hurricanes.
