GODFREY
Samuel "Sam Jr." Roberts, 47, died at 10:12 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born June 20, 1966, in Alton he was the son of Karla (Voss) Roberts of Prescott, Ariz., and Sam and Sharon Roberts of Alton.
He was a service dispatcher for Roberts Motors in Alton.
Along with his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Whitney of Edwardsville; two sisters, and one brother, Dr. Stacey Roberts of Clermont, Fla., John Roberts (Tonya) of Godfrey, and Melissa Corella (Rogelio) of Chandler, Ariz.; a stepsister, Leslie Ramprasad (Ryan) of Godfrey; and nieces and nephews, Stephanie Roberts, Isabella, Aliana, and Roman Corella, and Janelle Wilson.
A private Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey on Jan.12, followed by burial at Upper Alton Cemetery. Father Steve Pohlman officiated.
Memorials may be made to the Roberts Motors Scholarship Fund at the Lewis & Clark College Foundation.
