After my service ended I returned home and went to SIUE part-time while working as a carpenter. In 2001 I started a seamless gutter business that I owned and operated until 2008 when I sold my share to a partner. This enabled me to go back to school and finish my BS in biology and go on to complete an MS in molecular biology. I work for SIUE as the Lab Manager for the Dept. of Biological Sciences and I'm also the coordinator for the microbiology and bacteriology laboratories. I also teach a couple sections of non-majors biology every semester as well.
My free time is mostly spent with my shorties! I coach a U9 Girls soccer team for the Alton Fighting Irish (that my daughter plays for) that monopolizes a good share of that time. I enjoy camping, hiking, and fishing with my kids whenever we can get it in!
