Louis E. Johnson, 70, died at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 15, 1943, in Blyville, Ark., the son of the late Edgar W. Johnson and Norma E. (Smith) Gray.

He was a hunting guide at Nilo Farms for many years. Louis was an avid hunter and sharpshooter who loved training and caring for his hunting dogs. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was grateful and blessed to have been under the care of Dr. Sadiq Mohyuddin Sr.

On Sept. 19, 1997, he married Faye (Hall) Waters and she survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Leslie, Karen, Beth, Summer and Amy; and three stepchildren, Cathy, Jim and Jason; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Hanks (Kent), Gail Scott Milford (David) and Laurie Hillis (Randy); and one brother-in-law, Russ Wyman.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Wyman.
