Ann E. Aikens, 83, of Altoona, died Thursday evening at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in New Orleans, La., a daughter of the late William A. and Lillian M. (Douroux) Frank.

She married Harry L. “Hab” Aikens on Sept. 19, 1964, in Altoona. He preceded her in death April 20, 2021.

Surviving are a son, William A. Aikens (Marcy) of Altoona; two granddaughters, Jennifer A. Aikens and Natalie M. Aikens, both of Altoona; four great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Benjamin, Ava Lillian and Emilee; two sisters, Patricia Frank of Mechanicsburg and Deborah Frank (Larry) of Altoona; and her Miniature Schnauzer, “Scooter.”

Mrs. Aikens was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona.

She was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School.

Ann was employed at Butterick Co. Inc. for 22 years in various management positions, including plant manager. She then was employed by Commercial Printing as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, retiring with 15 years’ service.

She, along with Hab, owned Wyngate Farm from 1976 to 2004.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and close friends. She also enjoyed Saturday teas and playing with Scooter.

Ann was a former board member of the Blair County Chamber of Commerce.

A private viewing and funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.

Arrangements are by Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona.
