Albert G Abram

I am sorry to say we missed Albert's obituary.  Gerry Riley actually found out that Albert died, when he was checking bounced emails on our website. We apologize for missing his obituary, but would like all to read the beautiful story of his life.  Oddly, we actually were talking about Albert, at one of the lunch meetings last month. RIP Albert

Albert George Abram
August 15, 1939 – January 25, 2016

Albert George “Alby” Abram,76 , Bellwood went to be with the Lord unexpectedly Monday morning at UPMC Altoona Emergency Department.
He was born in Altoona son of the late Richard “Dick” and Flemming Elizabeth (Myers) Abram. He married Leta Victoria “Vicki” Cherry on September 19, 1959 in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his wife; three children, Terri Elizabeth Smith of Altoona, Albert Clark “Dutch” Abram of Tyrone and Jackie Lee (Paul) Figart of Felton, Del; four grandchildren, Amanda Lee (John) Smith Backus, Adam Joseph (Alanna) Smith, Chad Eric (Tiffany) Smith and Aubrey Nicole Abram; five sisters, Bonnie Carothers of Altoona, Lana Caputo of Pensacola, Fla., Kathy (John) Mittermeier of Hollidaysburg, Debbie (Mike) Burroughs and Rebecca (John) Strobert both of Altoona; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by brother, Richard “Ricky” Abram and brother in law, John Carothers.
He retired from the maintenance department at Valley View Home, Altoona.
Alby was an active member of Riggles Gap Bible Church where he faithfully served as a deacon of the church. His greatest love was working for the Lord and spending time with his family and friends. He took pride in assisting with the Bellwood-Antis football team and was one of their biggest supporters.
Friends will be received from 3-7pm Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Friday, January 29, 2016 at Riggles Gap Bible Church, Pastor William Ice officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park Antis Township.
The family suggests that contributions in Alby’s memory be made to Riggles Gap Bible Church.
