Margaret E. “Peggy” Vasel, 82, Altoona, passed away Saturday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Calvin Cummings Sr. and Betty Freeland.
On Aug. 27, 1960, she married George Vasel.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 64 years, George; a daughter, Lisa Spicer; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a close family friend, Amy Mallory; and her dog, JJ.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, at Santella Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ralph Hamer officiating. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery.
