I spent the good part of my adult life working very hard and building a strong, deeply rooted, community-oriented life in Pittsburgh. I have been blessed with a wonderful circle of friends there.
I got my graduate degree in public policy at Carnegie Mellon University and have worked in the local government, served as a high net worth investment manager at two of the largest banks in the country for over 20 years (PNC and Mellon) and ran a unique nonprofit devoted to women entrepreneurs. I now sit on a number of nonprofit boards.
It was time to balance my life and I (finally) got married in Fall 2010 to a wonderful man from Seattle. In July 2011 I left the East Coast for Seattle - a big move for the girl from Altoona. It has been hard because I miss my father who is in decline in Altoona and who I got very close to in the past 2 years. I come back to visit once a month to look in on him and and am very much looking forward to the reunion which coincides with his 87th birthday !
I keep in touch with two classmates that I have been close to since the late 1960's - Debby Holzman and Diana Morris.
