Amy Reed Ashby

I graduated from Amarillo College in May of 1992 and began working as a registered nurse. I married Rusty in 1993. We built a home out in the country but something was missing...we soon had our first child, Rhett! We had our second child, Cole, in 2000. And in 2002, our "blessing" disguised as a surprise, Saylor. My husband was an Amarillo Police officer for almost 13 years when he decided to become a Federal Agent. In 2004, we moved to Los Angeles for his first government assignment. We lived there for 2 years...couldn't wait to get back to Texas where we belonged. In 2006, we were transferred to San Antonio where we live now. Our days and nights are filled with our kids activites. Both of our boys play football and my daughter longs to be a cheerleader...go figure!! I continue to work as a nurse, delivering babies here in San Antonio. I have also embarked on an adventure as my daughter's Girl Scout leader...be afraid, be VERY afraid!! My plate is so full, but my cup runneth over!!!

What can you say about our years at the Rock? There are so many memories that are special....the dances, the parties, the friends, the boyfriends, SMU cheerleading camp, choir trips, football trips, sleepovers, spirit club, coronations...the list just goes on and on. I look back now and realize what a special time it was and how I shouldn't have rushed to get through it. Just think, living with Mom and Dad and letting them pay the bills..what a concept!! I know I had such a special group of friends but also realized we were all so limiting in that department. Long lasting friends are a rarity and you can never have too many. To all those special friends, you know who you are, I have missed you.
