I got to know Kelly after we graduated and my parents moved to Memphis. I always had so much fun with Kelly when I would go visit. He was quite a dancer. One of my favorite memories was one day, Kelly came by and got me to go give away puppies. He had a lot of beer iced down and would go to a farmer out in the field and offer him a beer, then say he had to take a puppy, too. We got all of them with homes by the end of the day. I miss him.
I first met Kelly when I was in Junior High School at Crockett. We played football together in those early days. He was one of my best friends back then and I will never forget the times we went to Estillene, Texas with his Dad to hang out and visit the family ranch. They were the largest land owners in that area and we had a very large time running around the area as two new guys in town.
