Comments:

After graduation I moved to Pocatello and attended beauty school. I passed my state boards and went to work at a salon. I met my husband, Terry, through a girl that I went to beauty school with. We were married in Feb. 1971 and just celebrated our 37th anniversary. We lived in Pocatello until 1979 and had our first three children there. I worked in a few different salons, and then stopped doing hair just before my second son was born in 1976. We moved to Boise in 1979 and lived there until 1992, and thats where our other three children were born. I didn't work much at that time...too busy raising kids. When I did go back to work in 1989, I worked retail in a dept. store. We moved to Bellingham, WA in 1992 when my husband took a job as Service Mgr. of a manufactured home co. I transfered with the dept store as they had a store about 25 miles from Bellingham. I made the 30 minute drive to work for six years then decided to come back to town and took a job with a drug store in the pharmacy. I worked as a pharmacy tech for a couple of years and then switched to cashier. The drug store closed shortly after I had major surgery. I didn't work for about a year and a half while recovering, then went to work at Fred Meyer in the customer service, and have been there ever since.
My life pretty much centers around my children and grandchildren. They are a blessing in my life. My two older grandchildren, Mackenzie,7, and Payton,4, live in Montana, so I don't get to see them very often, but all three of my daughters just recently gave birth to my other three grandchildren. Lucy was born Nov.20, 2007, Jackson was born Dec.28, 2007, and Brooklin was born Feb. 20, 2008.
Lucy lives in Rexburg, ID while her daddy finishes school at BYU ID. Jackson and Brooklin live here in Bellingham. Grandkids are great!
Just an update on grandkids..My oldest son, Terry, and his wife, Nicholle, just recently adopted three children, 2 boys and a girl. They are all siblings. Their names and ages are: Juan, age 4, Mario, age 6, and Franny, age 7. They've been in foster care a great deal and haven't had much stability in their lives. They're quite a rowdy bunch, but cute kids. That now brings my total to eight (six in a little over a year.)
I enjoy crafts, scrapbooking, and crocheting. I also enjoy camping with my family. I'm an avid Mariners fan, and try to get down to Seattle as much as possible for a game. (Ya I know there in the dumps right now, but I'm not a fair weather fan!) I enjoy living in WA, and try to overlook the fact that it rains so much, but the rain is what makes everything so green and beautiful. I haven't traveled much except for a trip to Mexico and a trip to Maui,HI for our 25th anniversary. Hopefully, if we ever reach retirement, we'll get to travel more. My life is probably pretty boring compared to some of you, but it's been very happy and I guess that's what matters.
This is a little extensive cause I'm not sure if I'll get to come for the reunion. It would be great to see all of you again. Hard to believe it's been 40 years since the good old days at AFHS.
Just updated my profile and since the last post which was 2009 I've added 9 more grandchildren. They are really a great joy in my life. My world seems to revolve around my kids and grandkids and that's ok by me. My husband, Terry, and I are both retired now, and quite enjoying spending our days together. We do a little bit of traveling but mostly to spend time with kids. Our oldest son and his family have moved back to Boise now, so we get the chance to go back to our old stomping grounds where most of our kids were born. I thought that when we spent 13 years in Boise, that that was almost a lifetime, but we've now lived in Bellingham for almost 26 years. We really love it here and I suppose this is probably where I'll live out my years. Hard to believe that it's been 50 years since graduation. Time has marched on but the memories of all of you and the good times we shared at AFHS live on in my heart. I am planning at this point to be in attendance at the class reunion, barring any unforeseen problems, and hope that you all can make it too.

School Story:

I have a lot of fond memories from high school...the games, the dances, freshman initiation and being hauled out to the cemetary, early morning seminary and drill team practices,
motorcycle rides from seminary to school on cold winter mornings, working at the A & W, and the bowling alley, sunday night bowling league, slumber parties with the girls, driving my dads little green bug to school and getting a $50 ticket for passing a school bus without stopping, movies at the Iris theater, going to Poky to the drive-inn, going to see the Association in Poky..The list could go on and on.
Just before they tore down the old high school my two sisters and I, (Suzanne and Nina) took a tour of it when I was over visiting. It really brought back a lot of memories. I hope all of you have had a great life and I thank you for the times that I got to share with you forty years ago.
