Remember him always being a genuinely nice person and so smart. Even in HS one would predict he would go far because of his character and intelligence. Sad to hear of his early death.
I spoke with Jim a few months before his death. I was in San Francisco and saw a brochure about the Sonoma Jazz festival, which mentioned his name as the founder. I called him and he spoke with great enthusiasm about the festival.
