Mrs. Kun was an absolutely wonderful person. She was the beloved and dedicated faculty advisor of our Class of '67, and was a constant source of encouragement and support when I was class president. She died too young (brain cancer) ... only a few years after we graduated from Amherst. I always thought of her as a close friend and confidant, and she helped me through some very difficult times. I will always deeply cherish our long talks. Celia was a marvelous listener, and had an infectious smile and a very positive outlook on life despite the difficulties she and her family suffered in Eastern Europe during her youth. I'll never forget her genuine warmth, interest and affection. Just before our "Boomer Reunion" in June 2011, it was wonderful to reminisce about her with her dear friend, our former Amherst French teacher Virginia Federico. I'll never forget Cecilia Kun. May she rest in peace.
