October 9, 1992 in her home in Tarpon Springs, FL.  She taught English at Amherst from 1956 until her retirement in 1972.  She lived in Amherst until 1986 and then in England for six years.  She is survived by two sons Michael ('62) and Robert ('64) and daughter Susan Steele ('62)
